The painted bat (Kerivoula picta) is a species of vesper bat in the family Vespertilionidae. It is found in Brunei, Cambodia, China, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Nepal, Sri Lanka, and Vietnam. It is found in arid woodland. It is known as විසිතුරු කිරිවවුලා (meaning the same as the English term) in the Sinhala language. The body and tail are the same length. The body length is 3 to 5.5 cm. The tail length is 3 to 5.5 cm as well. The wingspan is 18–30 cm. Weight is about 5g. Besides the coloring it is otherwise a fairly normal microbat that uses sonar to catch insects at night.
