It occurs in Indonesia, Malaysia, Papua New Guinea, the Solomon Islands and Queensland in Australia. The species was formally described in 1865 by Victorian government botanist Ferdinand von Mueller in Fragmenta Phytographiae Australiae based on plant material collected by John Dallachy near Rockingham Bay. |
