Xanthoparmelia conspersa (peppered rock-shield) is a foliose lichen. Rosettes are 4–12 cm in diameter. The thallus may be appressed to the substrate or may be loosely attached. Secondary metabolites found in Xanthoparmelia conspersa include usnic acid, hyposalazinic acid, stictic and norstictic acid.
