Manilkara elata is a species of plant in the Sapotaceae family. Endemic to Brazil, it is endangered by habitat loss.The wood is very hard (far superior oak) and heavy, with a normal amount of pores. Extremely durable. Amazing resistance to insect damage and rotting.
