The yellow-spotted petronia (Petronia pyrgita) is a species of bird in the sparrow family Passeridae. The bird is also named Yellow-spotted Bush-sparrow (Gymnoris pyrgita). It is found in Chad, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Kenya, Mali, Mauritania, Niger, Senegal, Somalia, Sudan, Tanzania, and Uganda. Its natural habitats are dry savannah and subtropical or tropical dry lowland grassland.
