Stenocalyx dysentericus is a tree from the Myrtaceae family (order Myrtales), native of the Cerrado, the central savannah region of Brazil. It is locally known by the Portuguese names cagaita or cagaiteira. The species was formerly named Eugenia dysenterica DC. (O. Berg).
