Grevillea amplexans is a shrub which is endemic to the Mid West region of Western Australia. The spreading shrub typically grows to a height of 0.5 to 3 metres (2 to 10 ft) with simple leaves that are 8 to 20 millimetres (0.31 to 0.79 in) in length and 10 to 20 mm (0.39 to 0.79 in) wide. It produces a regular inflorescence that is white or cream from July to October which develops into a smooth, oblong and glabrous fruit that is 10 to 20 mm (0.39 to 0.79 in) long. G. amplexans grows on sandplains and heathlands among low trees or shrubland; in gravelly soils or sand.
