Bidens amplissima (Vancouver Island beggarticks)

Synonyms: Bidens cernua var. elata; Bidens elata

Wikipedia Abstract

Bidens amplissima (Vancouver Island beggarticks) is a rare species of flowering plant in the daisy family. It is known only from Vancouver Island on the Pacific Coast of Canada, on the mainland of British Columbia, and in the nearby US State of Washington. There are some reports of the plant also being found in Manitoba and Nebraska, but these are almost certainly introductions. Bidens amplissima is an annual herb up to 120 cm (4 feet) tall. It produces numerous yellow flower heads containing both disc florets and ray florets.
