The bronze-winged woodpecker (Colaptes rubiginosus aeruginosus) a forest flicker endemic to northeast Mexico, from Tamaulipas to northern Veracruz. It was formerly placed in the genus Piculus (Benz et al., 2006). It usually is treated as a subspecies of golden-olive woodpecker.
