The velvety black tyrant (Knipolegus nigerrimus) is a species of bird in the family Tyrannidae.It is endemic to Brazil. Its natural habitats are temperate forests, subtropical or tropical moist montane forests, and subtropical or tropical high-altitude shrubland.
