Its natural habitats are dry forests, moist forests, and heavily degraded former forest. The Pygmy-Owl is the most frequently observed of Cuba’s owls. They breed in tree holes formerly used by woodpeckers. There are three known subspecies of the Cuban pygmy-owl: Glaucidium siju siju, Glaucidium siju Vittatum, and Glaucidium siju Turquinensis. |
