The brown lory (Chalcopsitta duivenbodei), also called Duyvenbode's lory, is a species of parrot in the family Psittaculidae. The scientific name commemorates Maarten Dirk van Renesse van Duivenbode (1804-1878), Dutch trader of naturalia on Ternate. It is found in West Papua, Indonesia and Papua New Guinea.Its natural habitat is subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests.
