Synonyms: Yaotriton ziegleri

Wikipedia Abstract

Ziegler's crocodile newt, Tylototriton ziegleri, is a species of newt in the Salamandridae family. It is so far known from Hà Giang and Cao Bằng provinces in northern Vietnam; there is a photograph to suggest it also occurs in Lào Cai Province. Based on molecular genetic data, Ziegler's crocodile newt belongs to the Tylototriton asperrimus group of knobby newts. Ziegler's crocodile newt is considered to be basically terrestrial outside the breeding season. The single known female was 71 mm (2.8 in) in snout–vent length (SVL); males were 54–68 mm (2.1–2.7 in) SVL.
