Eupleres major is a rare mongoose-like mammal endemic to Madagascar and classified in the carnivoran family Eupleridae. Eupleres major, recognized only in 2010, is in the genus Eupleres. People found it in humid rainforest and marshes in northwest Madagascar and also reported it from the dry deciduous forest in the west.
