The sand lark (Alaudala raytal) is a small passerine bird in the lark (Alaudidae) family, largely resident in the river valleys of from Iran to South Asia through sub-HimalayanIndia to Burma. It is somewhat similar, but smaller than, the short-toed lark. In the past it has also been referred to as the India short-toed lark, Indian sand lark or Ganges sand lark.
