Elachista nipponicella is a moth of the Elachistidae family that is found in Japan. The length of the forewings is 2.6–3.5 millimetres (0.10–0.14 in) for males and 2.8–3.6 millimetres (0.11–0.14 in) for females. The forewings of the males are greyish or grey-brownish, mottled with a paler colour and with white markings. Females have dark greyish or blackish forewings often mottled with whitish markings on the basal half. There are probably multiple generations per year.
