The Barusan cuckoo-dove (Macropygia modiglianii) is a species of bird in the family Columbidae. It is found on many of the western Sumatran islands. It was formerly considered a subspecies of the ruddy cuckoo-dove. The Barusan cuckoo-dove has three sub-species, each endemic to specific islands: \n* M. m. modiglianii Salvadori, 1887 - Nias Island \n* M. m. elassa Oberholser, 1912 - Mentawai Islands \n* M. m. hypopercna Oberholser, 1912 - Simeulue Island
