Wikipedia Abstract

Arignota stercorata is a moth in the Xyloryctidae family. It was described by Lucas in 1894. It is found in Australia, where it has been recorded from New South Wales and Queensland. It is also found in Papua New Guinea. The larvae feed on Elaeocarpus obovatus. They bore in the stem, feeding on leaves it cuts off and attaches at the entrance to the tunnel.
