Hypomecis punctinalis, the pale oak beauty, is a moth of the family Geometridae. The species can be found in Central and South Europe, Asia Minor, Transcaucasia, Russia, Russian Far East, Japan, Korea, Ussuri, West China. Similar species \n* Hypomecis roboraria (H.roboraria has a pale spot on a dark background at the apex forewing underside. This is not present in H.punctinalis) \n* Hypomecis species. The moths fly in one generation from the end of April to July. The larva feed on various trees including oak and birch.
