The Eastern buzzard or Japanese buzzard (Buteo japonicus) is a medium to large bird of prey that is sometimes considered a subspecies of the widespread common buzzard (Buteo buteo). It is native to Mongolia, China, Japan and some offshore islands. Many winter in Southeast Asia. In South and Eastern China to Thailand ,lives another species, Steppe Buzzard (Buteo Buteo Vulpinus) The eastern group includes: \n* B. b. japonicus: Mongolia, China, and Japan \n* B. b. toyoshimai: Izu Islands and Bonin Islands \n* B. b. oshiroi: Daito Islands
