Its common name is Tarapoto big-headed frog. It is endemic to Peru where it is known from its type locality near Tarapoto (San Martín Province of the San Martín Region) as well as from the Satipo Province. Its natural habitats are lowland tropical forest, but it may also be found in rocky streambeds in ravines on mountain slopes. Very little is known about this species. |
