Careya is a genus of flowering plants in the family Lecythidaceae first described as a genus in 1819. It is native to the Indian Subcontinent, Afghanistan, Indochina, and Peninsular Malaysia. Tropicos gives date of publication as 1811, but volume 3 was 1819.
