Thamnophis brachystoma, the shorthead garter snake or short-headed gartersnake, is a small species of colubrid snake found in small pockets in northwestern Pennsylvania and southwest New York. Name comes from the Greek words "Brachy", meaning short, and "stoma", meaning mouth.
