Wikipedia Abstract

Paralipsa gularis, the stored nut moth, is a moth of the family Pyralidae. It is found in the South-East Asia and is an introduced species in Western Europe. The wingspan is 21–32 mm. The male has a huge, silken tuft of golden hairs on the under side of the fore wing. It arises from near the base and, when not expanded, lies in an elongate, sac-like fold along the fore edge of the wing. The caterpillars feed on stored nuts and seeds like walnut, almond, soybean and flax.
