Upiga virescens

Wikipedia Abstract

Upiga is a genus of moths of the Crambidae family. The genus has also been placed in the family Pyralidae. It contains only one species, Upiga virescens, the senita moth, which is found in North America, where it has been recorded from Arizona and California. Senita cactus flowers are pollinated nearly exclusively senita moth adults. The larvae feed on Lophocereus schottii. They bore into the top of developing fruit, where they consume seeds and fruit tissue.
