Wikipedia Abstract

The Protea Emperor or Protea Charaxes (Charaxes pelias) is a butterfly of the family Nymphalidae, found in South Africa. The wingspan is 60–70 mm in males and 65–75 mm in females. It has successive broods from September to April. The larvae feed on Hypocalyptus obcordatus, Osyris compressa, Osyris lanceolata, and Rafnia species.
