The Silky Owl (Taenaris catops) is a butterfly of the Nymphalidae family. It is found in New Guinea and surrounding islands. The wingspan is 75–95 mm. The larvae feed on Cordyline terminalis, Musa species, Areca catechu and Caryopta rumphiana.
