Elachista arundinella

Wikipedia Abstract

Elachista freyerella is a moth of the Elachistidae family that is found in all of Europe, except the Balkan Peninsula. It is also found in North America. The wingspan is 7–8 millimetres (0.28–0.31 in). The larvae feed on Agrostis, Bromus, Dactylis, Festuca arundinacea, Festuca rubra, Holcus, Koeleria cristata, Poa annua, Poa badensis, Poa nemoralis, Poa pratensis, Poa trivialis, Trisetum fuscum and Triticum. The larvae create a mine consisting of a long, flat, whitish, relatively broad corridor descending from the leaf tip. A single larva may make several mines during its lifetime. Pupation takes place outside of the mine.
