Wikipedia Abstract

Cryptophasa stochastis is a moth in the Xyloryctidae family. It was described by Meyrick in 1890. It is found in Australia, where it has been recorded from Western Australia. The wingspan is 27-33 mm. The forewings are ashy-grey, thinly sprinkled with blackish. There is a dark grey dot near the base in the middle and about five indistinct cloudy dark-grey dots in a longitudinal series in the disc from one-fourth to three-fourths, the last subcrescentic. A small cloudy subquadrate dark-grey spot is found beneath the fourth dot, sometimes connected indistinctly with the third. The hindwings are fuscous, the base paler and whitish-tinged.
