Platyedra cunctatrix is a moth of the Gelechiidae family. It was described by Meyrick in 1931. It is found in the Democratic Republic of Congo (North Kivu) and Uganda. The wingspan is 17-18 mm. The forewings are b1ackish-grey with some irregular pale ochreous suffusion beneath the costa from the base to about one-fourth. There is an irregular rather oblique transverse pale ochreous fasciate blotch in the middle of the disc, not reaching the margins and a rather oblique transverse pale ochreous spot from the costa at three-fourths, where a fine faint irregular line runs to the tornus. The hindwings are rather dark grey.
