Wikipedia Abstract

The greater long-eared bat (Nyctophilus timoriensis) is a species of vesper bat in the family Vespertilionidae. Bats are mammals that are classified into two orders Megachiroptera (megabats), in which fruit bats belong; and Microchiroptera (microbats) which includes all the other bats. Nyctophilus timoriensis is found in the following countries: Australia, Indonesia, and Papua New Guinea. The south eastern form occurs in the woodlands of the Murray Darling Basin and adjacent areas, and is now referred to as Nyctophilus corbeni.
