It is a desert bird which is found across parts of the Sahara and Arabia. There are two subspecies: E. d. dunni in the Sahara and E. d. eremodites in Arabia. The species belongs to the genus Eremalauda; Stark's lark of Southern Africa is sometimes placed in this genus as well but other authorities such as the Handbook of the Birds of the World place it in Spizocorys. |
