The Hispaniolan trogon, Priotelus roseigaster, (now mostly accepted as Temnotrogon roseigaster) is a species of bird in the family Trogonidae. It is the national bird of Haiti. Itis endemic to Hispaniola Island in the Caribbean, an island shared by Haiti and the neighbouring Dominican Republic. It is one of the only two trogon species found only on the Caribbean islands. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist montane forests and what is now heavily degraded forest. It is threatened by habitat loss. It is mostly confined to a few remaining protected areas.
