Wakaleo alcootaensis was a "marsupial lion" that lived during the late Miocene, about 10 million years ago and was about the size of a dog. It has been found in Alcoota in the Northern Territory of Australia, and is known from a single fossil maxilla fragment found in 1974 by Dr. Michael Archer.
