Wikipedia Abstract

Citheronia laocoon is a species of moth in the family Saturniidae. It is found from the Guianas south to northern Argentina. Females are yellowish-black. Males have a bold yellow stripe that narrows as it runs toward the trailing edge of the forewing. The larvae feed on Prunus (including Prunus larocerasus) and Ligustrum ovalifolium. They are green with red.
