Hesperiphona is a genus of grosbeaks in the family Fringillidae (the true finches). This genus is native to the New World. It contains the following species: \n* Evening grosbeak - Hesperiphona vespertina \n* Hooded grosbeak - Hesperiphona abeillei The genus name is from Ancient Greek hesperos, "evening", and phone "cry". The species in this genus are sometimes included in the genus Coccothraustes along with the hawfinch, but the International Ornithologists' Union considers the two genera separate.
