Established by Coenraad Jacob Temminck in 1820, it contains the following species: \n* Western bearded greenbul (Criniger barbatus) \n* Red-tailed greenbul (Criniger calurus) \n* Eastern bearded greenbul (Criniger chloronotus) \n* White-bearded greenbul (Criniger ndussumensis) \n* Yellow-bearded greenbul (Criniger olivaceus) The name Criniger is Latin for "long-haired" (from crinis, meaning "hair" and gerere, meaning "to carry").
