Govenia floridana (tropical govenia) is a very rare species of orchid endemic to Everglades National Park in Florida. It was noted for the first time in 1957, and not found again until 1990. Govenia floridana grows up to 50 cm (19.5 in) tall. It has only 2 leaves, each with a sheath 3–30 cm (1–12 in) long and an elliptical blade up to 35 cm (14 in) long. Flowers are white with purple spots.
