Lagorchestes is a genus containing all but one of the species referred to as hare-wallabies. It has four species, two of which are extinct: \n* †Lake Mackay hare-wallaby, Lagorchestes asomatus (extinct) \n* Spectacled hare-wallaby, Lagorchestes conspicillatus \n* Rufous hare-wallaby, Lagorchestes hirsutus \n* †Eastern hare-wallaby, Lagorchestes leporides (extinct) The oldest known fossil of Lagorchestes is an 11,000-year-old one of the extant spectacled hare-wallaby.
