Hakea preissii, commonly known as the Needle tree, Needle bush and Christmas hakea, is a shrub or tree of the genus Hakea native to an area in the Pilbara, Wheatbelt, Mid West and Goldfields-Esperance regions of Western Australia. The erect shrub or tree typically grows to a height of 2 to 4 metres (6.6 to 13.1 ft). It blooms from August to December and produces yellow-green flowers. The plant is named for Ludwig Preiss (1811-1883), who made copious collections in Western Australia from 1838 to 1842.
